Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

I have never been a pecan pie fan. No one makes it at my house and come to think of it, I don't know anyone that makes it period. I have always considered it a southern thing that people just don't do well in the Northwest. Although, a couple of years ago I was at a lunch catered by Lisa Dupar (a caterer in Seattle, well known for her amazing food) and part of the dessert spread included these mini chocolate pecan pies. I know, not a TRUE pecan pie, but you have to start somewhere. Anyway, these little pies were just about the most amazing thing I've ever had and to this day I haven't forgotten about how yummy they were.

Flash forward to this weekend, when my sister announced she was going to make a pecan pie for Thanksgiving. Groan........gross. BUT then I remembered the delicious chocolate one I had a while back and the search was on for a similar recipe. I was looking all over the place and found some that looked similar, so I was content in my findings. Just when I was about to give up on google I tried again and found the EXACT recipe! I cannot explain the excitement that ensued! Because this is so delicious, I must share with everyone.
